About the scholarship

The Irene Worth Fund for Young Artists at The American University of Rome 

This donor-funded scholarship is dedicated to an American student, selected on a merit and need basis, who intends to pursue a degree in Fine Arts, Film or English Writing.


The total amount of the scholarship will be awarded to the student in semesterly installments throughout their studies at AUR and will be deducted from the tuition fee.


The Irene Worth Fund for Young Artists, Inc. provides funding for this scholarship.


To complete this form you will be required to upload:

  1. One letter of intent in response to: The Grand Tour was seen as an educational trip across Europe, typically undertaken by young men and women, which begun in the 17th century and went through to the mid-19th. It would see young travelers search for arts and culture in European cities and Rome, for obvious reasons, was a major destination. Describe your personal grand tour and how your studies at The American University of Rome would contribute to your development as an artist.
  2. A portfolio of your work. This must be PDF, PPT, DOC, or a YouTube link to your work online:
    • Fine Arts: a portfolio with at least 7 digital images
    • Film: a storyboard, script, or 3 to 5 minute video
    • English Writing, Literature and Publishing: a short story or essay
